For Artists

Publishing, handled. Without the back-office shrug.

If you're an independent artist, songwriter, or small label, this is what working with MPA looks like — including what we don't do.

01 / Who this is for

Built for writers without a back office.

Independent artists releasing their own music. Songwriters whose works are recorded by other artists. Small labels and producer collectives that have accumulated a catalog and want it actually administered.

You don't need to be charting. You do need to take your catalog seriously — that means clean splits, accurate metadata, and a willingness to fix what's been filed wrong.

02 / Services

Three lines of work, one operation.

Publishing Administration

The full operational stack for collecting on your compositions — from filing the first work to remitting the next statement.

Royalty Audit & Recovery

A focused look at every collection point that touches your works. We find what wasn't registered, what was misallocated, and what's sitting unmatched at the source.

Catalog Growth

For artists with established catalogs ready to extract more value. Selective, advisory, and never at the cost of long-term rights.

03 / The arrangement

What you get — and what we don't pretend to do.

Included

  • Worldwide registration of compositions across PROs, MLC, and sub-publishers
  • Royalty audit on day one — recovery before forward-looking work
  • Sync licensing support: rate review, paperwork, payment collection
  • Quarterly payments with reporting you can read
  • Flexible term lengths — we don't lock writers up for a decade
  • Direct communication with the people doing the work, not a ticket queue

Not our job

  • We are not a label. We don't release records, market, or fund recording.
  • We are not an A&R service. We don't develop artists or pitch you to one.
  • We are not a manager. We don't book shows, take meetings, or negotiate brand deals.
  • We don't hold ownership of your copyrights.
  • We don't take a piece of your masters or your live income.
04 / FAQ

Honest answers to the questions writers actually ask.

How long until I see money? +

For audit recoveries: anywhere from a single statement cycle (a few months) to a year, depending on the society and the size of the claim. For forward collection: once registrations are active, you'll see payments arrive on the normal society schedule — most pay quarterly. We don't promise overnight results because nobody in publishing can.

Do I keep ownership of my songs? +

Yes. Always. Administration is not assignment. You retain 100% of your copyrights. We act as your agent to register, collect, and audit on your behalf — and our agreement spells that out in writing.

Can I leave? +

Yes. Our terms are flexible and the off-ramp is clearly defined in the agreement. We'll cooperate with any transfer of administration to your next partner — we'd rather you leave cleanly than badly.

What if I already have a publisher in another territory? +

Common — and workable. We can administer the territories your current deal doesn't cover, or step in for global admin if your existing agreement is ending. Send us the paperwork and we'll tell you what fits.

What if I'm already registered with a PRO? +

That's expected — and helpful. You stay registered with your PRO as a writer. We take on the publisher-side registration and administration, and we'll fix any incomplete or incorrect filings as part of the audit.
